Petrozavodskmash Branch of JSC AEM-technology (a member of machine engineering division of Rosatom Corporation) has manufactured and shipped some sets of embedded parts and fasteners for a pressurizer and emergency core cooling system tanks. The items are designed to be installed as part of the Akkuyu NPP, Unit 1.

The embedded parts being the largest of the components are metal rings of around 4 m in diameter and over 6 tons in weight made of steel plate, round bar or shaped steel, which are to be concreted in foundations and inter-floor slabs of NPP buildings, for equipment fasteners to be then connected thereto. Total weight of the shipped equipment is nearly 40 tons.

Akkuyu NPP is the world’s first BOO project (build-own-operate project) implemented in the nuclear industry. The Akkuyu NPP project comprises four units using Russian VVER Generation III+ reactors of higher security and improved technical and economic features. The power of each NPP unit will amount to 1200 MW. Key manufacturing phases have been performed under the supervision of the Turkish Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NDK).
