ROSATOM is shipping key equipment for Kudankulam NPP In India

On 21 April, 2023, Atommash – a production site of AEM-Technologies, JSC (a part of machine-building division of Rosatom — Atomenergomash) shipped a reactor pressure vessel and four steam generators for Kudankumlam NPP Unit 5 (India). 

The equipment will be shipped in a combined way: the products will be delivered to a special berth by road. After being loaded on barges, the sets of equipment will be transported through waterways to the sea port of  Saint Petersburg, and then the cargo  will be delivered to India by sea.

We also express appreciation to our foreign partners: Chinese colleagues for cooperation in the construction of Tianwan NPS Unit 7 and Indian colleagues for cooperation in the construction of Kudankulam NPP Unit 5,” – Igor Kotov, General Director of Atomenergomash, JSC said. 

Kudankulam NPP is a nuclear power plant with VVER-1000 power units, located in the South of India, Tamil Nadu state. The construction of Kudankulam NPP involves the erection of  six power units with VVER-1000 reactors with a total installed capacity of 6000 MW. The first stage consisting of power units 1 and 2 was connected to the national grid of India in 2013 and 2016 respectively. ROSATOM is currently building four more power units that are the second and the third stages of Kudankulam NPP. 

Russia has been consistently developing international trade and economic relations by focusing on cooperation with friendly countries. In spite of external restrictions, domestic economy builds export capacity, supplies goods, services and raw materials throughout the world. Atomenergomash JSC takes an active part in this work.
